Motivational Monday – 4th February

It’s another Monday and it’s time for some motivation. I don’t know about you, but today I really need it. Today’s motivational quotes are:

“With the new day comes new strength and new thoughts.” ~ Eleanor Roosevelt

And this important. Think new thoughts. Forget the past. Forget what has happened. It’s a new day. A new week. Take a deep breath and just keep on going. That is what I am going to do.

Have an amazing Monday and a wonderful week!

Motivational Monday

So I was told when I got into University in Sweden, about 26 months ago, that I could never study full time. This was from a person whose job was to help me find a job and support me. I was so angry when I left that person office and I told my self that I should not listen to what had been said. That I am so much stronger then people believe.

And this is why today’s quote is:

“Think Big And Don’t Listen To People Who Tell You It Can’t Be Done. Life’s Too Short To Think Small.” ~ Tim Ferriss

Never listen to the negative people around you. Go after your dreams. You can do it! I believe in you!

Have an fantastic week!

31 December ~ Motivational Monday

Tomorrow is a new year. And for this Motivational Monday I thought this quote was a good one:

“A new year                                                                                                               A new start                                                                                                              And way to go!”

And as some of you now, I am moving with my husband to Edinburgh in a couple of day. I am going to study for a semester on Heriot-Watt University.

I am so excited. This is a big step for me and in my darkest moment I didn’t think I could do this, but I have the support from my husband. And my family of course. So I am really motivated right now. My emotions are all over the place.

But think of all you can do in this new year. Make it a new start. Don’t think about the past. Focus on the future.

2019 here we come!

Motivational Monday

It’s Monday again and today’s Motivational Monday post is a little late. I was having a problem finding a quote that I thought was fitting for this week. But I think I have found it.

All our dreams can come true, if we have the courage to pursue them. – Walt Disney

I love Disney and Walt Disney has said so many wonderful things. I think this is one of the best ones. I hope you all go after your dreams.

Have an amazing Monday!

Last day at Campus

Yesterday I had my last day at campus, here in Sweden before I go to Edinburgh. It has been a hard week so far. And I am so thankful for my friends at campus for helping me through this tough week. I think that it’s more real now that we are moving. Moving away from my dogs, my family and my friends. It has always been like months away, and now its just a couple of weeks. I am looking forward to studying abroad, but I know I will miss everyone at home.

I have always dreamed about studying in another country. But with my depression, anxiety and panic attacks I never thought I would be possible. Now, thanks to my wonderful husband’s support and the help from my family I am finally going.

I know that I am stronger than I think. I know I can do anything I want to do and I also know that my dogs are going to be well taken care of while I am gone. And this is a quote that I try to remember.

Picture taken buy me and the quote is by: H. Jackson Brown Jr.

I missed posting a few of my planned Christmas Countdown post this week, just because I have had these bad days. But I will post them soon.

Have an fantastic Friday!

3 December ~ Motivational Monday

It’s Motivational Monday and today I want to share a motivational quote that I feel is very important because when I started studying at University I was 26 years old and people said to me that I was too old.

“You Are Never Too Old To Set Another Goal Or To Dream A New Dream.” ~ S. Lewis

But you are never to old. Do what you want. Follow your dreams. Go after what you want.

That’s all I wanted to say today. Have a fantastic Monday and an amazing week!

26th November ~ Motivational Monday

It’s a new week and I have so much on my mind. For this Motivational Monday, I decided to share a quote that I have to remind my self about constantly.

“Think Continually About What You Want, Not About The Things You Fear.” ~ Brian Tracy

Bemuse I live with anxiety, depression and panic attacks, I am afraid of so many things. I am afraid something can happen to my husband, the dogs or my family. I am afraid to faint in public. I am afraid of getting a panic attack. I know this is ironic because having anxiety over this can cause a panic attack.

Sometimes I just have to think about what I want in life and not everything I am afraid of. Everyday is a struggle for me. I have a panic attack at least once a day, but I don’t let it stop me. I know I am better than that. And what I want is to get a degree and I am not going to let my fears stop me.

And if I can do it so can you. You are so much stronger than you believe!

Motivational Monday

It’s time for Motivational Monday. New week, new challenges.

“Shoot for the moon and if you miss you will still be among the stars.” ~ Les Brown

I really like this quote because it tells you to always do your best. Work your hardest. I think some people are having problems with staying motivated in the autumn we are having. I have to say I am one of them, but then I motivate myself with thinking about my goals and why I need to keep pushing. I am not going to be where I am my whole life. My husband and I have big plans for our future. And I will not stop fighting for my dreams. And you should not do that either.

So keep fighting for your dreams! And have an wonderful week, I know I will.

Rest in peace, Stan Lee

Yesterday I saw on the news that Stan Lee had passed away 95 years old. Most people know who he was, at least the people who live comic-series and Marvel knows how he was.

He was a man with great imagination and have given us so many wonderful characters. He was a true entertainer. And I know that he has helped so many people with his stories.

“I used to be embarrassed because I was just a comic-book writer while other people were building bridges or going on to medical careers. And then I began to realize: entertainment is one of the most important things in people’s lives. Without it they might go off the deep end. I feel that if you’re able to entertain people, you’re doing a good thing.” – Stan Lee

Here is a list of some of the characters he created:

Stan Lee created together with Jack Kirby booth The AvengersX-Men and Fantastic Four.

“I wanted them to be diverse. The whole underlying principle of the X-Men was to try to be an anti-bigotry story to show there’s good in every person.” – Stan Lee

Even though he could have retired a long time ago he still kept on working.

“Most people say, “I can’t wait to retire so I can play golf,” or go yachting or whatever they do. Well, if I was playing golf, I would want that to finish so I could go and dream up a new TV show.” – Stan Lee

And almost all who watch Marvel movies know that Stan Lee has Cameos in the movies. Watch here:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6aXfFjvUgzM

Excelsior is a thing that Stan Lee always said. And this is what he means:

“You know, my motto is ‘Excelsior.’ That’s an old word that means ‘upward and onward to greater glory.’ It’s on the seal of the state of New York. Keep moving forward, and if it’s time to go, it’s time. Nothing lasts forever.” – Stan Lee

ISome other things that Stan Lee has said that I just love:

“The more you read, the better you’re going to become as a storyteller.” – Stan Lee

“I don’t know where the hell I’ll be in five years. Maybe I’ll be producing movies maybe I’ll be on a corner selling apples. I don’t know, but I’m having a hell of a lot of fun.” – Stan Lee

[Being a ‘geek’] has become a badge of honor. It’s geeks who really make or break a TV show or movie or video game. They’re the ones who are passionate about these things and who collect [the paraphernalia] and talk about them. A geek is really somebody interested in communication and entertainment and [finding] the best way to avail himself or herself to it..” – Stan Lee

“Life is never completely without its challenges.” – Stan Lee

Rest in Peace Stan Lee. And thank you for the stories. You will forever live on in our favourite heroes and their stories.

J. K. Rowling – WCW

This week WCW is J. K. Rowling. If you don’t know who she is you must be living under a rock. As the writer behind the Harry Potter books and Fantastic Beasts and where you can find them, she is world known. But how many people now all the reasons that she is a role model? Here are 10 of my reasons why she is my role model:

  1. She worked up from nothing to being, like I wrote earlier, world known. I think most people know that she was living on welfare before she became famous. When she wrote Harry Potter, she was depressed and a single mom.
  2. She never gave up on her dreams, even though many publishers rejected her Harry Potter books. She just kept going.
  3. She stands up for what she believes in. Just look at her twitter.
  4. She never forgets her fans. Always having a dialogue with them on Twitter. Or writing on Pottermore.
  5. She is the first author in the world to have a net worth of 1 billion, that she then lost when she donated money to charity.
  6. She founded a charity that helps orphans to find homes and she named it after the light giving spell from Harry Potter, Lumos.
  7. She doesn’t romanticise the bad guy in her books. Just look at Draco Malfoy. J.K. Rowling has been very clear to her fans that he does not have a heart of gold an that he will not become friends with Harry in the end. He is one of the bad guys.
  8. Her female characters are strong women who stand up for themselves. And they have strong opinions and they are independent. Just look at Hermione, McGonagall, Mrs Weasley, GinnyTina, Queenie and so many more of the female characters from her books.
  9. J.K. Rowling is also a big inspiration to millions of people because of the books she has written. The books are amazing and filled with so many wonderful lessons that we need. And they help inspire people to read and to go out in the world an make a difference.
  10. She is an advocate for LGBT rights. She said that Dumbledore was gay.

Some of my favourite quotes of J.K Rowling:

“Anything’s possible if you’ve got enough nerve.”

“If you want to see the true measure of a man, watch how he treats his inferiors, not his equals.”

“It is impossible to live without failing at something unless you live so cautiously that you might as well not have lived at all, in which case you have failed by default.”

What’s your favourite thing that J. K. Rowling has written or said?
