Emma Watson – WCW

It’s Halloween today and I thought it was fitting that today’s WCW is an actress that has played a famous witch in Harry Potter. Emma Watson.

I a big fan of Harry Potter. Both the books and the movies. When “Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone came out in 2001 I was only 11 years old. And I noticed that the actors and actresses were about my age. I loved Hermione Granger because she was smart, strong and liked school just like me. I wanted to be her.

So Emma Watson became a role model for me at first because she played Hermione Granger. But you older we both got the more I started to find Emma a role model because who she was.

Emma is a Global Goodwill Ambassador for the United Nations. She cares about the environment. She is a humanitarian. And she stands up for what she believes in. And she has shown many times that she is selfless and compassionate.

These are just a few things that I admire about her.

Here are two speeches Emma has made both for the United Nations:

And here are a list of some of my favourite quotes from Emma:

“It’s a journey and the sad thing is you only learn from experience, so as much as someone can tell you things, you have to go out there and make your own mistakes in order to learn.”

“It’s not the absence of fear. It’s overcoming it. Sometimes you’ve got to blast through and have faith.”

“Both men and women should feel free to be sensitive. Both men and women should feel free to be strong.”

“If not me, who?
If not now, when?”

“The saddest thing a girl can do is dumb herself down for a guy.”

Happy Halloween!

We don’t celebrate Halloween in my family. I have never been at a Halloween party as far as I know. But I wouldn’t mind throwing one in the future. But my husband doesn’t find that interesting.

Today I at Campus for half the day. I am meeting my group for our group-assignments that is due on Monday. The I am meeting my husband and we are having lunch together.

This week have so far been kind of hectic. On Monday I had my exam and my husband had surgery. Then yesterday I was at Campus to get assignments for the last two weeks of my statistic course. I have a group-assignment and an individual assignment.

Now I am waiting for my group members. Three really nice women that I haven’t worked with before, but I feel like I am in a really good group.

And if you have Netflix and looking for something to see today. I have heard that this is really good:

I am planning to watch it tonight. I loved Sabrina the teenage witch when I grew up.

I hope you all have an amazing Halloween!

Love, Nea

My brother – Thankful Tuesday

I have a brother that’s 3 years older than me. We have had our ups and down, especially when we were both teenagers. But now I feel like we have a good relationship. And I am really thankful to have him as my brother. I know that I can call him whenever and he will be there for me.

He has helped me with so many things over the years and I know that he will help me in the future too. When it comes to technics that I don’t understand I can always ask my brother. He is, in fact, the one who helped me with starting this page.

And he loves my dogs and has helped me a lot with walking them when I am home alone for a couple of days.

My brother lives in the same town as I do, with his fiance and their son. And it takes about 20 minutes to walk home to them.

So that’s this week Thankful Tuesdays post.

Situation Sunday ~ October 28

It’s time for Situation Sunday. I haven’t really been that observant on what is happening around me this week, because all my focus has been on my exam tomorrow. But this is what I have seen in the news:

Bombs have been sent to George Soros, John Brennan, Hillary Clinton. Barack Obama, Eric Holder, Robert de Niro, Joe Biden and Maxine Waters. And more could be on the way according to the FBI.                                                                                                            What all these people have in common is that they have been outspoken about President Trump and from what I can understand President Trump has said something about each and every one of them to the press. (source about the bombs) (Source about the bombs)

Ethiopia gets its first female president, Sahle-Work Zewde. She has earlier been an ambassador in multiple countries and has been working for the UN in Nairobi. (source)   My opinion is that this is great. We need more woman in power around the world. I am looking forward to seeing what she is going to do with her leadership.

Same-sex penguin couple Sphen and Magic, in Sea-Life aquarium in Sidney, has been given the opportunity to adopt an egg from another couple that had two. (source)               I think this is really cute and a good initiative from the aquarium. I love penguins and I really hope I get to see some in real life sometime.

So that’s it for this weeks Situation Sunday. Hopefully, I have more to share with you next week.

I hope you have an amazing Sunday!

Love, Nea

Self-Care Saturday ~ October 27

Sometimes when it comes to Self-Care it can simply be to sit in front of Netflix and watch a good movie or a tv-show. To relax and drop all the things that need to be done.

This weekend I am studying for my big exam on Monday and I feel like I don’t have the time to slow down, but I am going to do that. So for me to watch Netflix with my husband in the evenings is the perfect way to relax and do a little self-care. To spend time together and just cuddle on the sofa. The dogs usually join us on the sofa and it’s just family time.

We all need to take time in our busy lives to take care of our self. We can’t be running around doing a million things all the time.

Now I am going to get some more studying!

Have an amazing Saturday! And take care of yourself! You are important.

Love, Nea

Give me motivation!

I need some motivation right now. I feel drained. I want to sleep or just do nothing. I been studying since this morning and feel like I don’t want to study more. But I need to because the exam is on Monday. And I am nowhere near ready.

So please send some motivation so I get some more studying before I need to go the optician in two hours to have my eyes checked and try out a new pair of glasses. Because I have started getting headaches again and my eyesight has been getting worse. I have had glasses since I was about 9 years old, so its nothing new. I just hate trying to find glasses that I like. But I will do my best.

Motivate me, please!

Walk the Line ~ Fangirl Friday

So I am a big fan of Johnny Cash. And of course, June Carter. I grew up in a house where there was a lot of music playing, and have always listened to a lot of music. And I listen to almost every genre out there. But country music has a special place in my heart.

When “Walk the Line” came out in 2005, I needed to see it. Because it was about Johnny Cash and also about June Carter. And Joaquin Phoenix plays Johnny and Reese Witherspoon plays June which was a great plus for me.

I saw the movie and I loved it. The way Joaquin and Reese manage to capture the voices of Johnny and June. I think they did an excellent version of all the songs in the movie.

I am not going to try and write what the movie is all about, but you can watch the trailer here:

I love how the movie is more or less about the love between Johnny and June. It’s a beautiful story, even if people have been hurt in the process.

Here is a clip from the movie when Johnny plays at the prison:

But one of my favourite songs of Johnny Cash is: “I walk the Line”. Here is the version from the movie:

I know that the movie has won a lot of awards. One of which was an Oscar that Reese won for Best Performance by an Actress in a Leading Role. Here is a list of the awards and the nominations.

Have you watched the movie? What did you think?

Hopefully…

Hopefully, I will have big news to share with you at the end of November. Something that is going to have a big impact on my life and a big change. That’s all I really can say…

But I am really nervous and I want to get the final answer now, but I know it’s about 3-5 weeks away, so all I can do is to hope.

And maybe tease you a little bit of what it is. I just couldn’t keep it in anymore. I have already been waiting for 2 weeks. How will I cop the rest of the time?

Zelda – Throwback Thursday

So this Throwback Thursday I wanted to share a picture of Zelda because the last two Thursdays I have shared pictures of Oracle.

Here Zelda is about 6 months old and she is really tired. We are at my husband’s job in his office. The dogs love when they get to go with their dad to his work, even if it’s just for a quick visit.

I love to look at old pictures of the dogs when they were puppies. We always wondered if Zelda would grow into her ears and paws. When we brought her home she had bigger paws than Oracle had. Now I don’t think they are too big for her body.
