It’s Halloween today and I thought it was fitting that today’s WCW is an actress that has played a famous witch in Harry Potter. Emma Watson.
I a big fan of Harry Potter. Both the books and the movies. When “Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone“ came out in 2001 I was only 11 years old. And I noticed that the actors and actresses were about my age. I loved Hermione Granger because she was smart, strong and liked school just like me. I wanted to be her.
So Emma Watson became a role model for me at first because she played Hermione Granger. But you older we both got the more I started to find Emma a role model because who she was.
Emma is a Global Goodwill Ambassador for the United Nations. She cares about the environment. She is a humanitarian. And she stands up for what she believes in. And she has shown many times that she is selfless and compassionate.
These are just a few things that I admire about her.
Here are two speeches Emma has made both for the United Nations:
And here are a list of some of my favourite quotes from Emma:
“It’s a journey and the sad thing is you only learn from experience, so as much as someone can tell you things, you have to go out there and make your own mistakes in order to learn.”
“It’s not the absence of fear. It’s overcoming it. Sometimes you’ve got to blast through and have faith.”
“Both men and women should feel free to be sensitive. Both men and women should feel free to be strong.”
“If not me, who?
If not now, when?”
“The saddest thing a girl can do is dumb herself down for a guy.”
