Home in Sweden

We came home to Sweden on Monday. I can’t explain the feeling in my body when we drove over the bridge from Denmark to Sweden. It was so surreal. And then when we drove into our little town and knowing that would soon see my dogs for the first time in 5 months. I started crying of happiness.

Being home these last two days with the dogs have been amazing, even if we came home to Oracle being sick. She has probably eaten something bad outside that have made her sick.

My husband and dogs out on an evning walk yesterday.

I have spent the days with the dogs and unpacking everything… And I still have a lot to unpack. Also a whole lot of washing to do. But that’s fine. I don’t mind it. I have the best company in the dogs.

Yesterday, my parents came over to take a couple of thing they had forgotten when they moved out on Monday. And my sister-in-law and nephew came over for a visit. It was so nice. I have missed them all so much.

I will try and update more about Scotland and our trip home in a couple of days. Right now I am going to spend some time with the dogs. Have an amazing Wednesday.

Roadtrip Home

Yesterday we started our journey home.. We drove about 189 miles and we still have a long way to go. We are spending to more nights in the UK before we are taking the ferry over to France.

Today we are going to stop at the place we got married at last summer.  I am looking forward to it. But I will probably not be posting any posts until I am home in Sweden again and settled.

I hope you all have an amazing day.

Thankful Tuesday – Edinburgh Edition

It’s Tuesday and I thought I would bring back Thankful Tuesday. This time as a Edinburgh Edition. I have so much to be grateful for during my time here in Edinburgh. It is hard to mention everything that I am thankful for, so I will mention a few things.

My wonderful friend Cat, that I got to know. We had on lecture together every week and I feel like I known her for far longer then just since January. She is a amazing person and she has helped me so much. And I am so happy to get to see her today, one last time before we move back to Sweden.

My husband because, as always, he has been my biggest supporter and always helped me through with my panic and anxiety. He has pushed me into doing much more then I would have done alone.

My wonderful professors that I have had during my time here. They have all been so understanding with my mental health problems and never made me feel like I didn’t belong. I am so grateful for that.

The Park near where we live, where I been able to see dogs playing every day. It has made me miss my dogs a bit less. And happy dogs always makes me smile.

The city of Edinburgh, so beautiful and so interesting. There is always something to look at or something new to learn.

I could list a thousand more things I am grateful for, but not this time. Now I need to start packing. We are leaving Edinburgh on Thursday.

Have a wonderful Day!

Motivational Monday – May 27th

It’s Monday and I a bit stressed over all the packing my husband and I need to do before we start our journey back to Sweden in a couple of days. I am looking forward to moving back home to Sweden, but I will miss Edinburgh and Scotland very much. We are definitely going to come back here.

I need to stop stressing and I found this quote when I was searching google and I thought it was really nice and suitable for me right now (it’s not really that motivating):

“For fast-acting relief, try slowing down.“ – Lily Tomlin

I like this quote so much. It speaks to me and I feel like if I try and relax and enjoy my last couple of days here in Edinburgh it might help me. I know I will finish packing in time. We are two people that can do it together. It’s not like we live in a big mansion, but a small apartment. Yes, I have bought a lot of stuff, but we are taking a car home, we got the room.

So today, I hope we can take the bus into the city, for the last time, and kind of say good bye for now. It’s kind of bitter sweet, but I miss my dogs and my family. And we will be back.

I wish you all an amazing Monday! And take time to slow down and smell the flowers!

P.S. I will write one or more posts about our trip in the Highlands, but it will probably be when we get home to Sweden.

Trip

My husband and I are currently on a trip to the Higlands. We left Edinburgh yesterday morning. Today we are spending the day on Isle of Skye.

So far the trip has been amazing. Yesterday on out trip here we saw Glencoe and the viaduct at Glenfinnan.

I wish you all a fantastic day!

Bravissimo

Yesterday my husband and I was in to the city center of Edinburgh. We visited Calton Hill and then we went to Bravissimo, a shop with underwear for woman that have big breasts. My husband had found the shop when he had googled around to find a place to find me a bikini. And he found Bravissimo. The shop had very good reviews and when we checked their website they had many beautiful bikinis.

The storefront in Edinburgh.

The store is on 20 Multrees Walk, Edinburgh EH1 3DQ. And the staff was amazing and very nice. They also have stores in other locations in the UK. The website is: https://www.bravissimo.com/

We got in and almost directly we got a question if we needed help. I explained that I was looking for a bikini. Then she asked if I had bought clothes from them before, which a hadn’t. They said that if I waited 5-10 minutes I could get help with finding the right size for me. So we waited and walked around in the store and looked at the sortiment.

After about 10 minutes Lauren came up to me and introduced herself. She was so nice and helpful. She took me to a dressing room and we talked a bit of what I was looking for. I also decided that I wanted to by some bra’s. She came in with a couple of different styles and I get to try them on. I just have to say the service in the store was better then I ever seen before. And I usually get panic-attacks in dressing rooms, but Lauren was so nice and professional. She was easy to talk to and she listened to my wants. I didn’t feel like a burden or like I was a hard costumer with what I was looking for.

The whole experience was amazing and I walked out from the store happy and with a lot of new products, both bikinis, bras and panties. And I never felt forced to buy anything. All I bought was things I fell in love with and know I will be very happy with.

I will absolutist be back to that store. And just to clarify this is not a paid ad, this is my honest opinion. I never been that good treated in a store before and I think more people should know about the store.

I wish you all an fantastic Friday!

Hand cramps and Summer Break

Yesterday I wrote my two final exams so now I officially have Summer Break. I am so happy over this. This morning my husband and I booked somewhere to stay as we take our mini vacation up in the Highlands later in the month.

The exams yesterday was killing me. The first one went pretty well and I think I might get a good grade on that. Even though I had hand cramps in the end. Then I had about two hours break before my last exam that started at 5 pm. I was feeling kind of anxious for this exam and then when I walked into the room and sat down I had a minor panic attack and was thinking about just walking out from the room. But I powered through. I was not really satisfied with the two essays I wrote on the exam, but I did my best. I kind of got a empty head a couple of times and could not come up with anything to write. Hopefully its enough to give me a passing grade. But I just have to wait and see. I also got hand cramps in the last exam.

Today my hand hurts and cramps, but I know it’s nothing to worry about. I still have not processed that I am finished with school here in Edinburgh. I just need to wait to see how my grades are, but I am so happy right now and I am looking forward to be going home in the end of the month.

Now I am going to spend some time with my husband. Have an amazing Wednesday.

Motivational Moday – 6th May

It’s Monday again and I am kind of stressed. Tomorrow I have my two exams. I do not feel prepared even though I have studied as hard as I can. I have cold that just does not want to disappear and it’s starting to make me into me into a bitch. I want to complain about it but then I talked to a friend and she helped me. It sucks being sick, but there are so many people how are dealing with so much more then a cold.

So today I am am focusing on being grateful for my life and how far I have come. And tomorrow I will give it my best on the exams and that just have to be enough. I can’t do much more than that. And at least I have tried. At least I have given it my all.

Days like this I remember this quote:

“I never dreamed about success, I worked for it.”

that Estée Lauder said. I have worked hard to be where I am today. And I have not given up. And I won’t give up.

So if you are having a rough day or just needs some motivation anyway keep fighting. Work hard for what you want. You can get it. I mean, look at me… I am living my dream. Studying abroad even though I live with panic attacks, anxiety and depression. If I can do this, you can do whatever you want. We are all so much stronger than we think.

Now I am going to get some more studying done! Have an fantastic Monday!

Sad day…

Today is a heavy day. A close family friend Roy was buried today in Sweden, and here I am in Edinburgh getting ready for my final exams at the beginning of next week. All I want to do is curl up in a corner and cry.

But as Roy would have wanted me to keep going. Keep fighting. Focus on getting my degree. So I am here doing my best. Trying to get study as much as I possibly can and trying to remember all the good times we have had.

Roy was a person that always made me laugh. He was a movie and tv-show nerd just like me and we have had a lot of discussions about Supernatural, NCIS and Marvel. And many, many other movies and series. We also discussed music and life. He died way too early and he will be greatly missed. He was like my uncle and I know that when I get home to Sweden in a months time it will finally dawn on me for real that I will never see him again.

Because he loved Beatles and I know this song was one of the Beatles song that was played at his funeral today.

Rest in peace Roy! I hope heaven is filled with roads where you can ride an MC and a room where you can listen to your music and watch all the tv-shows and movies you want. How loudly you want without anyone complaining.

I will miss you!

Unreal feelings

Today I have finished my last essay for my time here in Edinburgh. It feels so unreal. Now all I got left on my term here is two exams that I have next week. I can hardly understand how fast the time has gone buy. I love it here in Edinburgh, but I am really homesick right now. I miss my dogs like crazy. And I know that in a months time we are on our way home.

I don’t know if I have told you already but we are going to drive home. It’s going to be a amazing road-trip with out new car that we bought here in Edinburgh last week.

But first we are going to explore Scotland some more. And I am looking forward to it. I am so happy that I took the chance to study abroad. It has been a great experience and I am having so much fun.

I will miss this amazing city when we get home. All the amazing people that I now can call my friends and the feeling I have gotten when I been here. The courage that all of this have given me. I can’t really explain it.

I hope you have an fantastic Tuesday.
