It’s time forThrowback Thursday and because my husband and I had our 12 year anniversary yesterday as a couple I want to share a picture of him and me together in the early days of our relationship.
My husband and me, Autumn 2007
My husband and I have been through thick and thin, but we are still here and we still love each other.
A lot of peoplethought we were too young when we got together. And even more so when moved into an apartment after 1,5 years relationship. This was a couple of weeks before I turned 18 and he turned 20, but we didn’t care. And now I am really glad that I didn’t listen to them.
Now I am married to the love of my life and the man that is my best friend.
Today it has been 12 years since my husband and I became a couple. If someone would have told me for 13 years ago that I would be here living with my husband and two dogs, I would not have believed them. I did not feel like someone could love me for me. But now I am happily married to my best friend and the love of my life.
My husband in the sunset, taken a couple of years ago.
He’s there for me in so many ways. And I know that he will always be here for me. He is the glue that holds me together in tough times. He’s my rock that keeps me steady when I have a hard time standing up. He’s my shelter when I feel scared.
I am lucky to have this amazing man in my life and to call him my husband. Next week we have been married for 4 months.
I am looking forward to spending the rest of my life with this fantastic man.
Michele Obama, a woman that I look up to in so many ways, is this week’s Women Crush Wednesday. I think everyone knows her as Barck Obama’s wife and The First Lady of America from 2009 to 2017. She’s a lawyer and writer. And her book: Becoming, is a book that’s on my wishlist for Christmas.
She is this week WCW because:
She started “Let’s Move!” in 2010. A movement to solve childhood obesity.
She launched “Let Girls Learn“, to help girls around the world get an education.
She stands up for what she believes in.
She is kind and caring.
She is honest and open about being a black person in the USA
She loves her husband and even though they have had their up and downs, they still together. And they act like they just fell in love. Its beautiful and something I hope to have with my husband.
She cares about the service members, veterans and their families. Together with Dr Jill Biden she launched Joining Forces in 2011. It’s an initiative to help and support service members, veterans and their families with education, employment opportunities and wellness.
She is not afraid to be herself.
She shares her quirks and all with us.
Watch Michelle Obama on James Corden’s Carpool Karaoke:
Shes just a great inspiration to me. Listen to this:
Some of my favourite quotes:
“I always say that women should wear whatever makes them feel good about themselves. That’s what I always try to do.” ~ Michelle Obama
“We explain when someone is cruel or acts like a bully, you do not stoop to their level. Our motto is when they go low, you go high.”~ Michelle Obama
“One of the lessons that I grew up with was to always stay true to yourself and never let what somebody else says distract you from your goals. And so when I hear about negative and false attacks, I really don’t invest any energy in them, because I know who I am.” ~ Michelle Obama
“You can’t make decisions based on fear and the possibility of what might happen.” ~ Michelle Obama
“Do not bring people in your life who weigh you down. And trust your instincts … good relationships feel good. They feel right. They don’t hurt. They’re not painful. That’s not just with somebody you want to marry, but it’s with the friends that you choose. It’s with the people you surround yourselves with.” ~ Michelle Obama
So I remember that I never wrote yesterday to tell you what the status with my husband’s health is. He does not have thrombus. We got the news 3 o’clock in the morning and he was sent home to rest and with the orders to take fever-lowering medicine and to contact the hospital if the fever hasn’t gone in a few days.
I am thankful that he doesn’t have thrombus, but it would have been nice to know what’s wrong with him. The doctors think he might have pains in his arms because of his fever. We just have to wait and see.
I was home all day yesterday with him. I was too tired to drive to campus and go on my lectures. Two hours of driving is not a good idea if you can’t even stay awake when you sit on the sofa studying.
Yesterday I saw on the news that Stan Lee had passed away 95 years old. Most people know who he was, at least the people who live comic-series and Marvel knows how he was.
He was a man with great imagination and have given us so many wonderful characters. He was a true entertainer. And I know that he has helped so many people with his stories.
“I used to be embarrassed because I was just a comic-book writer while other people were building bridges or going on to medical careers. And then I began to realize: entertainment is one of the most important things in people’s lives. Without it they might go off the deep end. I feel that if you’re able to entertain people, you’re doing a good thing.” – Stan Lee
Here is a list of some of the characters he created:
“I wanted them to be diverse. The whole underlying principle of the X-Men was to try to be an anti-bigotry story to show there’s good in every person.” – Stan Lee
Even though he could have retired a long time ago he still kept on working.
“Most people say, “I can’t wait to retire so I can play golf,” or go yachting or whatever they do. Well, if I was playing golf, I would want that to finish so I could go and dream up a new TV show.” – Stan Lee
And almost all who watch Marvel movies know that Stan Lee has Cameos in the movies. Watch here:
Excelsior is a thing that Stan Lee always said. And this is what he means:
“You know, my motto is ‘Excelsior.’ That’s an old word that means ‘upward and onward to greater glory.’ It’s on the seal of the state of New York. Keep moving forward, and if it’s time to go, it’s time. Nothing lasts forever.” – Stan Lee
ISome other things that Stan Lee has said that I just love:
“The more you read, the better you’re going to become as a storyteller.” – Stan Lee
“I don’t know where the hell I’ll be in five years. Maybe I’ll be producing movies maybe I’ll be on a corner selling apples. I don’t know, but I’m having a hell of a lot of fun.” – Stan Lee
[Being a ‘geek’] has become a badge of honor. It’s geeks who really make or break a TV show or movie or video game. They’re the ones who are passionate about these things and who collect [the paraphernalia] and talk about them. A geek is really somebody interested in communication and entertainment and [finding] the best way to avail himself or herself to it..” – Stan Lee
“Life is never completely without its challenges.” – Stan Lee
Rest in Peace Stan Lee. And thank you for the stories. You will forever live on in our favourite heroes and their stories.
Its time for my Thankful Tuesday post and today it will be about my mother.
My mother and I have had our ups and downs in our relationship, but she’s my mother and I love her. I know that I can call her if I have any troubles or just need someone to talk to. She is wonderful with my dogs and treats them as her grandchildren.
Sometimes I think she wants me to take it a little more easy with all the challenges I take. Like starting university. I think she might think it was too early in my development after my mental health problems. But she is still there pushing me.
We go shopping together. The last time was last Friday. And we have a nice time. I get to borrow her and dads car to get to campus. And if I feel like its a bad day, we talk on the phone while I drive to campus in the morning. They have Bluetooth in their car so my phone is connected to that. So no I am not breaking the law when I talk to her.
My mother is always going to be my mother. And I am thankful for that. And I love her.
Right now I am sitting in my parent’s kitchen waiting to hear from my husband. He’s at the Emergency Room. Hopefully, it’s nothing serious but when he got home today he had pain in his right arm. We found a bruise and I git worried because he is not a person that whines and he had surgery two weeks ago. My first instinct was that he had gotten a thrombus. He called the medical information and they said he should go to the emergency room.
I and the dogs went with him and then we went to my parents so I can drive him home when he gets to come home. Now I just hope its nothing serious.
I am having some anxiety and panic over this. And I am glad that I am at my parents for support. Here in Sweden its half past eleven in the evening right now. And I want to sleep but I know that I can’t until I know how my husband is doing.
“You Have To Get Up Every Morning And Tell Yourself – I Can Do This!”
Because we all have bad days sometimes and we can do so much more than we think. We just need the right attitude. So tell yourself that you can do it and then do it. I know that you can!
It Sunday again and tomorrow I will start a new course. I am going to read an introduction to law. I have to go to campus 4 days out of 5 this week. But I will probably not get to campus tomorrow because I got my husbands Man-cold.
My husband got home early from work on Monday and has since then been home with the cold. He’s feeling better now, but I am not. I have a high fever and absolutely no energy.
This week has been full of schoolwork. The last of my Statistic Course. But now I am hopefully done with that. My group had our opposition on out assignment on Thursday and it went well.
On Friday I went shopping with my mother. We bought clothes and I started thinking about Christmas presents. It was after the shopping trip that I got my fever. And I hate the timing because yesterday I was supposed to go to a self-defence class, but I had to stay at home instead.
I am trying to stay updated on the fires in Malibu. I am sending prayers to all the people and the animals in the area. I just have to say that Whitney Cummings is a hero and inspiration for trying to save as many animals as possible. I know that a lot of people are helping and I am so grateful that we have kind and caring people like them in the world.
It’s time for self-care Saturday and today I want to share with you one of my favourite self-care routines. Skin Care. I feel so much better after I have gone through my skincare routine. It helps me relax and I know that I take care of my self when I do it. And I know that my skin gets better when I take care of it and I will feel better because my face isn’t full of acne and blemishes.
When I go through my regular skincare rutin it takes about 10-15 minutes. And if I also take a mask it takes about 10-15 minutes more. I try to do it morning and evening. If you don’t have a skincare rutin, I can really recommend to try it.
I have tried some different brands of skin-care and the one that I love and that’s works with my allergies and other problems are; Artistry.
Right now I use (THIS IS NOT A PAID AD):
Artistry Hydra-V Fresh Foaming Cleanser ~ Cleans my skin and hydrates it.
Artistry Hydra-V Fresh Toner ~ A toner that takes away the last of the impurity on the skin.
Artistry Hydra-V Vital Skin Serum Concentrate ~ A serum that helps me with moisture and hydrating my skin.
Artistry Youth Xtend Serum Concentrate ~ A serum to help me with the wrinkles I already have and to prevent wrinkles that I will get in the future.
Artistry Hydra-V Refreshing Gel ~ My day and night crème that hydrates my skin and its also kind of cooling.
Artistry Youth Xtend Crème Enrichissate ~ My eye crème that a use to get my puffiness under the eyes to get down and to help me prevent future wrinkles.
And I at least once a week I use these masks:
Artistry Hydra-V Refreshing Moisture Mask ~ A mask to hydrate the skin.
Artistry Essentials Pore Cleansing Masque ~ Artistry Essentials are no longer sold here in Sweden, so now I am going to buy this one: Deep Cleansing Mask ARTISTRY™.
And when I have a lot of acne I use this product: Artistry Essentials anti-blemish, that now is replaced with this one: Anti-Blemish Gel Treatment essentials by ARTISTRY™.
* This is not a paid ad. I just wanted to share my skin-care with you all when I talked about self-care.
