Situation Sunday ~ 9th December

It’s December and we are getting closer and closer to Christmas. Every Shop I see have decorated for Christmas and now the stress begins. Christmas gifts, the food, the cleaning of the house and to make this Christmas like everyone else. And that everything has to be perfect.

I saw this ad from Clas Ohlsson on YouTube and it felt so appropriate that I decided that I needed to share it here whit you. (I am not paid to share this).

Happy Stressfree Christmas, an ad from Clas Ohlsson.

Why do we have to stress? Christmas comes each year either way. And why do you need to have a perfect Christmas? I know that some Christmases in the past that I have stressed. Everything had to be perfect, especially the first Christmases together with my husband. But he doesn’t care.

I love Christmas, but now I sit down and think about what I find important with Christmas and not what everyone else does. For me, Christmas is about spending time with the people you love and I have promised myself not to stress this year. At least not with Christmas. I think I will have my hands full with packing for my time studying abroad. And I really don’t need to stress over Christmas as well.

And I hope that you all don’t stress and take care of yourself. What’s the most important thing for you about Christmas? Is it the tree? Is it presents? The company? Just sit own an think about it. Maybe list the important things and take away the not important things. Maybe cut down on the food that is served. Just do what’s right for you.

Today is the Second Advent and when my husband gets home we are going to light the second candle. And probably watch a Christmas movie. And that will be the perfect ending of this week.

I wish you all a wonderful Sunday!

Love, Nea

9th December ~ Christmas Song of the day

Today’s Christmas song is Underneath the Tree. I love this song because I think it sums up my feelings that I care more about being with my husband then the presents under the tree. Christmas isn’t Christmas to me without him.

I think Kelly Clarkson Has an amazing singing voice and I like her music. And this song is perfect for my Christmas playlist.

Have an fantastic Sunday!

Elf ~ Christmas Movie

One of my all-time favourite Christmas Movies is Elf. I watch it at least once every December. And I have already watched it once this year. My husband does not understand why I need to watch this movie every year, and sometimes more than once. So I usually watch it when he isn’t at home. So I can watch it in peace.

The movie is about Buddy (Will Ferrell), a human who has been raised on the North pole by an elf. In the movie, he finds out that his not an Elf and he leaves the North Pole to try and find his father Walter (James Caan) in New York, who didn’t even know that Buddy existed.

The movie is hilarious and it always gives me Christmas feelings. I love how Will Ferrell plays the role of Buddy. It’s funny and believable. And I think I need to see the movie at least one more time before Christmas.

Watch the trailer down below!

If you haven’t watched it jet I can highly recommend it. And if you have seen it, why not watch it again! Curl up in your sofa with some hot chocolate and someone you love.

Love Actually ~ Christmas movie

One of my favourite Christmas movies is: Love Actually. I like that you follow different people and see how there lives change over the time of the movie. This is a movie that has it all. Love, angst and so many funny moments.

I can’t actually explain the plot. Not in a good way at least. The movie is full of amazing actor and actresses. Hugh Grant, Emma Thompson, Colin Firth, Keira Knightley, Alan Rickman and Martin Freeman have parts in the movie.

This song is a part of the movie and I like it. It’s actually on my Christmas Playlist.

If you haven’t seen this movie yet I can recommend it. Maybe it’s a good idea to watch it this evening.

8th December ~ Christmas Song of the day

The Christmas Song of the day is: Christmas Through Your Eyes by Gloria Estefan. This is a song that I remember from when I was a child. It’s a song that gives me Christmas feelings and I think the lyrics are where beautiful.

This song is always one my Christmas playlist. And I usually listen to it when I am decorating the tree or baking some Christmas goodies.

I hope you have an amazing Saturday.

Lethal Weapon ~ Christmas Movie

Todays Christmas Movie is Lethal Weapon. Now some of you might say that this movie isn’t a Christmas movie, but according to me, you are wrong. It takes place around the Christmas holiday and there is Christmas music playing in the movie. Maybe it’s not a traditional Christmas Movie but I usually watch it before Christmas.

Picure source: IMDB

Roger Murthaugh (Danny Glover), is a cop that just turned 50 gets a new partner, Martin Riggs (Mel Gibson) a cop that lost his wife and now is suicidal. They are completely opposites, but now they have to solve a murder of Amanda Hunsaker, a prostitute thats also the daughter of one of Murtaughs old Vietnam War friends, Michael Hunsaker. The murderinvestigation quickly turns in to a case about drug smugglers and soon both Riggs and Murthaghs lifes are in danger, inlucing Murthaghs familys.

And the most famous quote from the movie is:

“I’m too old for this shit” ~ Roger Murthaugh

My husband and I watched the movie the other day. And as he always says when we watch it: This is not a Christmas Movie. So we agree to disagree.

Hope you have a wonderful Friday!

7th December ~ Christmas Song of the Day

It’s Friday and today’s Christmas Song is a song that I actually listen to for the first time last year. And it’s not one of the classics but I like it.

The Florin Street Band

I just love this song. I love when I found a new Christmas Song and this one with this amazing music video is just fantastic. And the band is new to me too. I hope I will find more songs made by them.

I hope you like it! Have an amazing Friday! I know I will.

6th December ~ Christmas Song of the Day

It’s Thursday and wanted to have an upbeat Christmas song to get through the day. So I choose: Here Comes Santa Claus. This is an oldie, that I love. I know my grandfather played it around Christmas from a tape. So this gives me memories from my childhood.

Gene Autry did the original in 1947. He also wrote the lyrics to this song. (source: Wikipedia)

But I know that there are many versions of this song. The populare Tv-show Glee did a version of this song.

I hope you liked today’s Christmas Song. Have an fabulous Thursday!

Christmas Gift Ideas for the one that has everything

Do you know someone that has everything, but you don’t have an idea what to get them? Here are some tips from me to you. (not an ad)

A good idea is to give away experiences. Like Skydiving or Whiskey tasting. There are a lot of different alternatives. In Sweden, you can buy experiences on: Live it. And in the U.K. you can buy them on: Into the Blue. I think every country has a place to buy experiences.

You can also give a charity donation in the person’s name. There are a lot of Charity’s that do good work and I think this is a great gift. Why not give the money to organizations that need them. Here is a list of Charity’s: Hundstallet, UNICEF Sweden, UNICEF UK, or Save the Children. These are just some examples. There are so many Charities out there. In every country.

With WWF you can either donate money or adopt an animal as a gift. Just look here: WWF Sweden, WWF UK or WWF USA.

But if you really want to buy a gift to a person then I have tree options.

Socks. I know it sounds boring but as Dumbledore says in Harry Potter:
“One can never have enough socks”. And I find that to be true. You can buy regular boring socks or you can buy crazy socks. And you can find socks almost anywhere.

Or you can buy a nice bedding sets as a gift. There are so many nice bedding sets available and I know that: Ellos, Amazon and Mark & Spencer have nice bedding sets.

And the last tips is: a framed photo from an amazing day or a special memory. I don’t really know where you can order that in different countries but I would say google it. Here in Sweden I usually use My Fuji Film.

And to clarify: THIS IS NOT AN AD!

Hope you liked my ideas. Do you have any good ideas for Christmas gifts? Please share!

Love, Nea

5th December ~ Christmas Song of the Day

The Christmas Song of the Day is: Do They Know It’s Christmas. I love this Christmas Song it gives me maximal Christmas feelings and I think it’s important to think of other people. And this song captures that.

I also like the thought behind Band Aid and I hope there will be more versions of the song in the future.

I hope you have an fantastic Hump Day!
